Class 2 Electrofishing Certification

Class 2 Backpack Electrofishing Course

The 2019 Class 2 (Backpack Crew Leader) Course has been cancelled. It may be rescheduled in fall 2019.

Course description

Given the cancellation of the Class 1 certification course, we are offering a Class 2 (Backpack Crew Leader) course on June 6 and 7, 2019.

This course covers backpack electrofishing and allows the graduate to train their own backpack crew. This course is a collaboration between the IWS and Cambium Aboriginal Consulting, with Cambium staff instructing the course.

An added bonus is the addition of a stream fish identification module for those who are requiring or wanting to learn this skill. The Royal Ontario Museum Fish Identification course was cancelled this year and this course will be of great benefit to those who need/want to learn proper identification of stream fishes at a much reduced cost!

The one-day refresher course is designed only for those participants who have experience and previous instruction in Backpack Electrofishing and whose three-year course recertification is due.

The two-day course is for all new to electrofishing and those who are interested in fish identification.

Registration is limited to 25 participants. Once the maximum number of students has been reached, prospective students will be placed on a wait list.

Fees are for course instruction/materials only. All students are responsible for booking and paying for the accommodations of their choice within Peterborough if required. No meals are included in this price.

$600.00 plus HST = $678.00

Two-day course (Class 2 Backpack Training Course with Fish Identification)
